Atalanta 4-4 Frosinone: lead changes hands four times in an eight-goal thriller
Atalanta led, trailed, led again and were pegged back once more as Nikola Krstovic's brace and goals from Éderson and Eljif Elmas were matched by a Romano Schmid double and late strikes from Giacomo Calo and Aleksa Terzic in a wild 4-4 draw at the Gewiss Stadium.
Neither side led by more than a goal, and neither side was ahead for long. Romano Schmid put Frosinone in front inside the first minute, Nikola Krstovic levelled for Atalanta, Schmid restored the visitors' lead, Éderson equalised from the penalty spot, and Krstovic's second put the hosts 3-2 up at the break. Giacomo Calo levelled for a third time two minutes after half-time, Eljif Elmas put Atalanta back in front within two more minutes, and Aleksa Terzic, on as a substitute, scored the final goal of an extraordinary afternoon with eight minutes to go to make it 4-4.

Ghedjemis the architect, Krstovic the finisher
Farès Ghedjemis set up three of Frosinone's four goals — Schmid's second, Calo's equaliser and Terzic's leveller — and was directly involved in every lead change the visitors forced. Krstovic scored twice and set up Elmas for a third, meaning five of the eight goals in the match either came off his boot or his final pass. Frosinone also committed 13 fouls to Atalanta's seven and picked up four of the match's five yellow cards, a sign of a team that spent much of the afternoon chasing the game or chasing the ball back.

Two very different recent runs collide
Atalanta had lost four of their last five coming in, with their only win in that stretch a 3-1 home victory over Venezia, and this draw at least stopped the rot after back-to-back defeats to Juventus and AC Milan. Frosinone's last five read W D W L W, a run built on an opening-day loss to Napoli being the only blot, and a side that has scored 17 goals in eight matches showed again here why they keep finding the net even against better-placed opposition.
What's next
The point leaves Atalanta 11th on 10 points, still well adrift of the European places, while Frosinone climb to 6th on 14 points, inside the Conference League play-off spot and only two points off 3rd-placed Roma. Conceding four goals and still taking a point out of Bergamo is the kind of afternoon Frosinone's attack has made a habit of delivering this season.
