Toulouse 0-0 Troyes: eight bookings, no goals, and a losing streak finally stopped

Toulouse had 62.7% of the ball and six of the match's eight yellow cards, but could not break down bottom-placed Troyes, who ended a five-match losing run with a 0-0 draw at the Stadium.

Toulouse had almost two-thirds of the ball at the Stadium and three shots on target to Troyes' none, but it was the away side celebrating at the final whistle — not with a win, but with the point that stopped a five-match losing run. Eight yellow cards were shown across the 90 minutes, six of them to the home side, and none of them changed a goalless scoreline.

Troyes hold on without scoring a shot on target

Troyes had gone into the match on the back of five straight league defeats, conceding 15 goals in that run and sitting on just five points. They did not manage a single shot on target at the Stadium, completed fewer than four in five of their passes, and spent long stretches without the ball — but a goalless draw was still an improvement on anything they had produced in a month, and it ended the losing streak.

Where it leaves both sides

Toulouse had not lost in four matches coming in, two wins and two draws including a 3-0 win at Le Mans, and this result stretches that run to five without defeat — even if it is the first of the five with no goals either way. The draw leaves them 11th on 10 points. Troyes stay 17th on 5 points, inside the automatic relegation zone, but a clean sheet and a point snapped a run that had produced nothing but defeats since the start of September.
