Roma 4-0 Slovan Bratislava: first Champions League win of the season arrives at the Olimpico
Mario Hermoso, Nahuel Molina, Niccolò Pisilli and a Donyell Malen penalty gave Roma a 4-0 win over Slovan Bratislava at the Olimpico, their first Champions League victory of the 2026-27 league phase.
Roma finally found their first Champions League win of the season, four different scorers doing the damage in a 4-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava at the Olimpico that was settled well before half-time was out.
Mario Hermoso headed the hosts in front in the 21st minute from a Daniele Ghilardi delivery, and Nahuel Molina doubled the lead eight minutes before the break. Niccolò Pisilli made it three early in the second half, teed up by Donyell Malen, who then turned scorer himself from the penalty spot in the 58th minute. Slovan Bratislava had three players booked — Tigran Barseghyan, Suleiman Camara and late substitute Cristian Martínez — as the game slipped away from them, managing not a single shot on target across the 90 minutes.
A first win, a long way behind on the table
Roma had taken one point from their first two Champions League matches — a 1-1 draw at Fenerbahçe followed by a 3-4 home defeat to Real Madrid after leading — so this result takes them to four points from three games with a vastly improved goal difference. Slovan Bratislava, beaten 1-6 by PSG on matchday 1 and 0-3 by VfB Stuttgart on matchday 2, remain without a point and have now conceded 13 goals in three Champions League matches. Domestically, Roma head into this result sitting third in Serie A on 17 points from seven games, their +13 goal difference the best measure yet of a side scoring freely in both competitions this autumn.
