Two goals in stoppage time: Roma beat Atalanta 2-1 to go three from three

Roma had 39 shots. For most of the afternoon, none of them mattered. Then stoppage time arrived, and two of them did.
Atalanta led 1-0 at the Olimpico from Ederson's 47th-minute finish and held that lead until deep into added time, when Mario Hermoso headed home a corner in the 90th minute and Matías Soulé — who had delivered that very corner — turned in the winner three minutes later. Roma won 2-1 to make it three victories from three to open the season.
Ederson punishes a game Roma dominated
The numbers made no sense next to the scoreline for most of the match: Roma had 67% of the ball and piled forward relentlessly, but it was Atalanta who broke the deadlock through Ederson early in the second half, on 47'. From there, Atalanta dropped deeper and defended what they had.
Hermoso and Soulé turn it around in stoppage time
Roma kept pushing without reward until the 90th minute, when Soulé's corner found Mario Hermoso, who headed it in to level the score. Three minutes later, in the third minute of stoppage time, Soulé got the winning goal himself to complete the turnaround and send the Olimpico into delirium.
A red card after the final whistle
Atalanta's frustration boiled over once the referee blew for full time: Gianluca Gaetano was sent off for his protests after the whistle, an ugly footnote to a result that leaves the visitors still searching for consistency on the road.
