Two goals in first-half stoppage time break Monza: Udinese win 3-2 at the Brianteo
Monza twice got level, but Hassane Kamara and a Jurgen Ekkelenkamp strike either side of the 45th minute settled it. Udinese win 3-2 and Monza are still without a point.
Monza kept getting back into this game and Udinese kept pulling away from it. The killer blow was two goals in first-half stoppage time.
Jakub Piotrowski put Udinese ahead on 32 after Monza gave the ball away in midfield. Andrea Colpani levelled on 37. Then, in the three added minutes before the break, Hassane Kamara made it 2-1 and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp thumped in a third from distance. Gustavo Varela's header on 63 pulled one back, but Monza could not find the equaliser.
Errors at both ends
Monza had 51% of the ball and matched Udinese for shots on target, but the visitors were sharper with their chances and better in the key moments. Monza, missing several players through injury, have now lost both games — 4-1 at Inter, 3-2 here.
