Lille 2-4 Galatasaray: Victor Osimhen seals a second-half fightback after Lille led at the break
Lille led 2-1 at half-time before Alexey Batrakov's stoppage-time header, a Berke Özer own goal and a Victor Osimhen strike turned it into a 2-4 Galatasaray win at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy — Lille's third straight Champions League defeat, leaving them without a point from three matches.
Lille led at half-time against Galatasaray at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy and still lost 2-4, as the Turkish champions levelled on the stroke of half-time and then scored twice more without reply in the second half — including an own goal from Lille's own goalkeeper, Berke Özer — to leave the French side still without a single Champions League point after three matches.
Yunus Akgün put Galatasaray ahead inside two minutes with no assist recorded, but Soriba Diaoune levelled for Lille in the 7th minute, assisted by Alexsandro, and put the hosts ahead with a second goal in the 39th minute, created by Hákon Haraldsson. Lille's 2-1 lead lasted until almost the end of the half: Alexey Batrakov headed Galatasaray level in the 44th minute, set up by Roland Sallai. The turnaround was completed early in the second half: Özer turned the ball into his own net in the 52nd minute to put Galatasaray 3-2 up, and Victor Osimhen made it 4-2 in the 61st minute, finished off a Baris Alper Yilmaz pass, before the away side saw out the rest of the game comfortably.
A lead built in 32 minutes, lost in 22
Lille had the better of the game's first 39 minutes, turning an early concession into a 2-1 lead against a Galatasaray side that had barely settled, but from Batrakov's stoppage-time header to Osimhen's finish — a span of only 17 minutes either side of the interval — the French side conceded three times without reply to finish the game 2-4 down. It was a collapse built on individual moments — a well-worked header, an own goal, a clinical finish — rather than one side being outplayed for long stretches. Four Lille players were booked across the match, Nabil Bentaleb and Benjamin André in the first half and Gaetan Perrin late on, as the afternoon turned increasingly frustrating for the hosts.
Osimhen's return to a French ground
Osimhen's goal continues a strong individual contribution to Galatasaray's European campaign from the Nigerian forward since his move from Napoli, scoring the goal that put the result beyond real doubt once his side had already fought back from a goal down. It arrived in a game where Galatasaray needed to show more than they had in their first two Champions League matches, both defeats — 1-3 at home to Sporting CP on matchday 1 and 1-4 at home to Barcelona on matchday 2 — and this was the first time this season they have come from behind to win a European match rather than fall further behind.
Lille's winless start to the league phase continues
For Lille, this is a third straight Champions League defeat without a point, following a 2-3 loss at home to Real Betis on matchday 1 and a 0-3 defeat away at Arsenal on matchday 2 — a start that contrasts with a Ligue 1 campaign in which they currently sit 4th on 14 points from seven games. Domestically Lille have scored ten goals in seven games, so goals have not been the issue; in Europe, they have now conceded 6 across their first two matches before adding four more here, a defensive pattern that has undercut every one of their attacking performances in this season's league phase so far.

What's next
Galatasaray's first win of the league phase lifts them away from the bottom of the 36-club Champions League table after two opening defeats, while Lille remain without a point from three matches and need a response before the matchdays that decide the top-24 play-off places start to run out. Both sides now turn back to their domestic campaigns — Galatasaray chasing ground in the Süper Lig and Lille looking to build on a solid 4th-placed Ligue 1 start — before the league phase resumes.
