Danny Namaso scores twice as Auxerre beat Le Havre 1-3 at the Stade Océane
Namaso struck either side of the hour and set up a third for Romain Faivre, Rayan Fofana's response from the bench not enough to stop Auxerre winning 1-3 at Le Havre.
Danny Namaso scored in the 40th and 61st minutes and set up Romain Faivre for a third late on, doing most of the damage himself as Auxerre won 1-3 at the Stade Océane. Rayan Fofana pulled one back from the bench for Le Havre in between Namaso's two goals, but it was only ever a brief interruption to an afternoon Auxerre controlled through one player.
Namaso involved in all three
Namaso opened the scoring just before half-time, finishing off a move started by Kévin Danois, then restored Auxerre's lead early in the second half after Fofana's equaliser. He was not done: with ten minutes left, Namaso turned provider, squaring for Faivre to make it 1-3 and put the result beyond Le Havre. Three goals involving the same player inside 40 minutes is the kind of individual contribution that decides a mid-table fixture like this one.

A response that didn't last
Le Havre's goal came from Rayan Fofana, on as one of five second-half substitutes, finishing a move set up by fellow substitute Hakim Dongopandji in the 66th minute. For a few minutes it looked like it might turn the game, but Faivre's late third settled it before Le Havre could build any real pressure on Paul Nardi's goal.
Form coming into the round
Le Havre arrived winless in their last five league games (two draws, three defeats) and still without a victory all season. Auxerre had been streakier — two wins either side of a run of three defeats — and this result continues that up-and-down pattern rather than a clear turnaround.
What's next
The result leaves Le Havre bottom of Ligue 1 on 2 points after seven matches, still the division's only side without a win. Auxerre move up to 12th on 9 points, level with Toulouse and Brest but behind both on goal difference.
