Iván Azón's late strike gives Getafe a 1-0 win over winless Málaga

Getafe beat Málaga 1-0 at the Coliseum on Sunday, settled by a single goal eight minutes from time. Iván Azón finished off a fast break from Martín Satriano's pass to win it, in a match where Málaga had the better of the possession and corner counts but could not turn either into a goal.

A goal against the run of play

Málaga held 55.5% of the ball to Getafe's 44.5% and won nine corners to the home side's five, but managed only 11 shots to Getafe's 20 and failed to hit the target with any of them. Getafe's greater directness eventually told: Azón's 85th-minute strike, on the counter after a Málaga attack broke down, was enough to decide it.

The only side without a win

The result is a significant one at the bottom of the table. Málaga remain without a win in seven league games this season — three draws and now four defeats — and, after both Celta Vigo and Elche picked up their first victories of the campaign on the same weekend, they are now the only club in the division yet to win a match. Getafe, meanwhile, moved to two wins from six games, bouncing back from a 0-1 defeat away to Real Betis the previous weekend.
