Fulham finally win: Alex Iwobi's 33rd-minute goal beats Hull City 1-0 at Craven Cottage

Seven games into the season and bottom of the table without a single victory, Fulham got their first of the campaign through Alex Iwobi, and held on after Ryan Sessegnon's stoppage-time red card.

Six games without a win to start the season, bottom of the Premier League on two points — Fulham needed this one more than the table alone suggested. They got it through Alex Iwobi, who swept in a Sander Berge pass on 33 minutes, and then had to defend a one-goal lead for almost an hour against a Hull City side that dominated very little of the ball but kept pushing.

Craven Cottage had the ball for 76.2% of the match and six shots on target to Hull's none, but the closest thing to a second goal came from the away side's discipline running out. Ryan Sessegnon was sent off in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Fulham's second card of the half after Sander Berge had already been booked, and the hosts finished the game with ten men but the points intact.

A first win, seven games in

This is the one Álvaro Arbeloa's side had been missing. Fulham drew twice and lost four times across their first six matches of the season — a run that included a 0-0 at Anfield and a 1-1 with Manchester United, games where the performance did not match the result. Iwobi's goal is their first victory of the 2026-27 campaign.
