Raimondo's early double sends Frosinone 3-2 past a fighting Venezia

Frosinone made a fast start count, then had to survive one from Venezia to keep all three points. A 3-2 win at the Stadio Benito Stirpe leaves the promoted side firmly in the top half after three rounds.

Antonio Raimondo scored twice before the half-hour mark to put the hosts in charge, and although Venezia hit back with two goals in eight second-half minutes, Giorgi Kvernadze restored the two-goal cushion — and this time it held. 🟡🔵

Raimondo strikes twice before the break

Raimondo opened the scoring on 21' and doubled it on 39', continuing the scoring form that had already produced a brace at Fiorentina the round before. Frosinone went into the break 2-0 up and controlling the game from the front.

Venezia hit back, but Kvernadze has the last word

Venezia, who arrived back in Serie A still searching for their first points, gave themselves a route back into it: John Yeboah pulled one back on 66', and Richie Sagrado made it 2-2 on 74'. Frosinone needed an answer, and Giorgi Kvernadze gave them one on 83', restoring the lead and this time seeing the game out.
