Marcos Fernández's stoppage-time header rescues Espanyol a 1-1 draw against 10-man Sevilla
Lucas Stassin put Sevilla ahead in the 85th minute despite playing with 10 men since the 56th, but Marcos Fernández headed a deep stoppage-time equaliser to earn Espanyol a 1-1 draw at the RCDE Stadium.
Sevilla spent more than half of this match a man light and still had one hand on all three points. Espanyol needed a header deep into stoppage time to take anything at all.
Arouna Sangante was sent off for Sevilla in the 56th minute, but the visitors held out for almost another half hour before Lucas Stassin broke the deadlock in the 85th minute. Espanyol had a goal by El Hilali chalked off by VAR in the 62nd minute, and it looked like costing them — until Marcos Fernández rose to head home an equaliser in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
