Two own goals and an Aubameyang strike: Deportivo beat Valencia 3-1
César Tárrega turned into his own net on 13, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made it 2-0 on 17, and a Mouctar Diakhaby own goal sealed a 3-1 win as Deportivo deepened Valencia's poor start.
Deportivo, back in the top flight, took their first win of the season and did it partly through Valencia's own mistakes.
César Tárrega turned a cross into his own net on 13 minutes. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the lead on 17 — his third goal in three games. Umar Sadiq pulled one back for Valencia on 26, but Mouctar Diakhaby's own goal on 59 restored the two-goal cushion.
Ten men, and it barely mattered
Deportivo finished with ten men after a stoppage-time red card, by which point the game was long won. Valencia had 12 shots to Deportivo's 11 and more of the ball, but conceded three and have now lost two of their first three.
