Como 2-0 Sassuolo: Anastasios Douvikas scores twice as Sassuolo fail to test the keeper
Anastasios Douvikas scored both goals as Como beat Sassuolo 2-0 at the Stadio Sinigaglia, a game in which the visitors did not manage a single shot on target across 90 minutes.
Anastasios Douvikas scored twice in the space of eleven second-half minutes, and Como did not need much more than that to see off Sassuolo 2-0 at the Stadio Sinigaglia. The Greek striker opened the scoring in the 49th minute, finishing off a Maxence Caqueret pass, then doubled it in the 60th after Kaiki found him again — and Sassuolo spent the rest of the match without ever forcing a save out of Jean Butez.
A striker finally in the right position
Douvikas' double took Como's shots-on-target count to six for the match, against zero from Sassuolo — not one shot the visitors had all afternoon found the target. Como also had the better of possession (56% to 44%) and corners (6 to 4), control that matched the scoreline rather than flattering it. Domenico Berardi was booked in the 63rd minute as Sassuolo's frustration grew, with Ignace van der Brempt following him into the book late on.

A fifth win in six
Como's last five games in all competitions read L D L W W — a Champions League defeat at Feyenoord sandwiched between Serie A results — and this is now back-to-back wins after Saturday's trip to Manchester United. Sassuolo's run had been D W L D L, with their only win in that stretch at Juventus; this third defeat in five games leaves them still searching for consistency.
What's next
Como stay 5th on 17 points, inside the Europa League places, while Sassuolo remain 13th on 8 points, six points clear of the relegation zone but with little separating a crowded mid-table.
