A flat first half, then five goals in 43 minutes
Bodø/Glimt held out for a scoreless first half and even had spells of the ball at the Allianz Arena, but their night effectively ended at the break: goalkeeper Nikita Haykin, who had started the game, did not come back out for the second half and was replaced. Bayern needed only two minutes to make the substitution count, and once Musiala's shot went in the rout followed a familiar shape — Kane heading home a cross in the 61st minute, Davies driving one in from distance in the 77th, and Olise adding two more either side of a red card for Bodø/Glimt's Odin Bjørtuft in the 87th minute, the second arriving in second-half stoppage time.

Bodø/Glimt did not manage a single shot on target across the 90 minutes, against 12 from the home side, and Bayern's expected-goals figure of 2.49 dwarfed the visitors' 0.20. The Eliteserien champions, playing only their second-ever Champions League league-phase match, spent most of the night defending rather than threatening, and once they went down to ten men with three minutes still to play there was little left to salvage.

A side finding its rhythm again
The rout continued a strong run for Kompany's side, who go into this Champions League campaign unbeaten in their last four matches: a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup, a 5-1 demolition of newly promoted Stuttgart, a 0-0 draw away at Schalke and a 2-1 win at Elversberg, all while missing Musiala for most of it. Sitting 4th in the Bundesliga table on seven points from three games heading into this fixture, Bayern now add a maximum-points start to their first league-phase campaign under the 36-team format, with two into their opening eight fixtures still comfortably ahead of them before the knockout play-off line is even a concern.
