Auxerre come from behind to beat Brest 2-1 for a second straight win

Auxerre needed a half-time reset to win this one. Pathé Mboup put Brest ahead at 23', and Will Still's side went in at the break behind and, by the manager's own account, badly out of sorts. Cameron Archer levelled it a minute into the second half, and Raphaël Le Guen turned the ball into his own net at 83' to complete a 2-1 turnaround.

Whatever was said in the away dressing room at the Abbé-Deschamps worked. Archer needed only a minute after the restart to draw Auxerre level, and the hosts kept pushing from there until Le Guen's own goal, ten minutes from time, settled it in their favour.
A second straight win under a new manager
Will Still took over at Auxerre this summer, and it took his side three matchdays to get off the mark — heavy defeats to Lens (2-5), Angers (1-3) and Lyon (1-3) left them bottom of the table without a point. A 1-0 win over Nice on matchday four ended that run, and beating Brest makes it back-to-back wins for the first time this season, Auxerre's best form since Still's arrival.

Brest had looked to be finding form, beating Le Havre after opening draws with Le Mans and Toulouse, but a narrow home defeat to PSG has now become two defeats running after this loss at Auxerre. Only three shots on target all game, against an Auxerre side that had conceded 11 goals in its first three matches, is a below-par return for a side with top-half ambitions this season.
