Lilian Raolisoa headed Angers into a 14th-minute lead at the Stade Raymond-Kopa, and for a little under half an hour that scoreline held. Then Marseille scored five times through five different players — Himad Abdelli, Nouhoum Kamissoko, Amine Gouiri, Amine Harit and Igor Paixão all finding the net — to win 5-2 on the road.

Two headers either side of half-time

Himad Abdelli headed in a Timothy Weah cross in the 37th minute to level it, and six minutes later Nouhoum Kamissoko headed home a second, set up by Emerson, to put Marseille ahead by half-time. Amine Gouiri made it three in the 60th minute. Amine El Ouazzani pulled one back from the penalty spot for Angers in the 75th minute, but Marseille had the last word: Amine Harit, assisted by Tochukwu Nnadi, scored in the 83rd minute, and Igor Paixão — teed up by Weah for the second time in the match — added a fifth two minutes later.

A second straight win after a rough patch

Marseille arrived on the back of four straight league defeats before snapping that run with a 2-0 win over Troyes last time out. Back-to-back wins now lift them to 9th on 9 points — their best spell of the season so far, and a reminder of the attacking depth in this squad when it clicks.

Angers stay in the bottom half

For Angers, it is a second defeat in three matches after a 1-5 loss at Brest last time out, and their heaviest home concession of the season. They drop to 14th on 7 points, with work to do defensively after conceding 15 goals in seven matches.
